Recommended Maintenence For Your Bathtub And Fixtures:
Although the new finish on your tub or sink is very durable with it's built in UV protection and high resistance to chemical attack and degrading, We reccomend similar maintenence and care for your new finish as we reccomend for a new tub or sink.
Surface Conditioning:
- Please do not use surface for a full 12 Hours. All newly refinished surfaces will have surface dust, which will have settled into the new surface. We at Tub Tech take the additional time that we find makes a dramatic improvement in the finished product by what’s called: Using a Tac Rag after each coat of material specially designed to remove 99% of all dust. There is no way to prevent all dust, as we are not working in a 100 percent dust free environment.
- Please remove the protective masking paper and plastic film from the walls after 24 hours. It is used to protect the walls from overspray. Masking tape is used to attach the paper and plastic to walls.
- You will also need to caulk around the tub. We recommend the newly reglazed surface to cure fully before adding a caulk, that’s why we don’t do it before we leave.
Cleaning
- Your new finish is easily cleaned with a mild liquid cleaner. FANTASTIC, FORMULA 409, LYSOL TUB and TILE, SIMPLEY GREEN, Dawn dishwashing liquid And DOW SCRUBBING BUBBLES.
- DO NOT USE SOFTSCRUB, COMET, AJAX or TILEX(Do Not Use Any Type Of Abrasive Cleaner). Also, don’t use the shower to shower (claims you never have to clean again) products.
- Do not use abrasive scrubbing pads, such as Scotchbrite, or any similar pad as this will scratch the new surface. A cleaning pad designed for cleaning Teflon surfaces works well.
- The use of strong bleach clorox is not recommended to use as a cleaner on any refinished fixture. Even though we‘re using highly chemical resistant products on your Fixtures. Bleach is an oxidizer, not recommended.
- Rust from metal shaving lotion cans may stain surface if allowed to sit for long periods of time.
- Destruction of the surface may occur by using acid compounds such as drain openers or tile grout cleaners. All Harsh Chemicals should be kept away from the finish Including hair dyes and nail polish removers and perfumes.
- You may wax/polish your reglazed fixtures once every 4-5 months with a quality urethane car/boat - Wax. This will help protect your tub and fixtures against excessive dirt build up, it will clean up easier every time and will increase and add luster. Of course don’t wax the slip resistant tub floor. Treating your new surface with respect, cleaning it regularly, your fixture will stay shiny, bright and will give you many years of trouble free service.
